I got my first job last Monday and I enjoy working there for the most part. At least until tonight when the manager (who hired me) insulted me in front of the other employees. The place I work(ed) at has a very high turn over rate and I really didn't think about it. Until I asked to have my lunch break in the middle of my shift instead of right after I clocked in. (My lunch break was at 3 when I showed up and the I would work until midnight) so after I asked that he implied that I had no work ethic, no pride, and no integrity. By saying that "your generation has no blah blah blah. When I started out people would actually blah blah blah. If you stayed you would develope a work ethic and some integrity and some pride." I am paraphrasing only the blahs. He lectured me on that and said that I could learn how to do the "right thing"(his words) if I stayed. I don't want to quit my first job right away but I don't want to be treated like I'm some stupid brat that doesn't want to do work. All I did was ask for a break in the middle of my shift. So am I in the right or am I overreacting? Sorry for the long post...
