Cervix too short, 23 weeks?

So I had some bleeding, went to the er, my cervix is a little too short, which means I may go into labor early. Doctor said he's not terribly concerned yet, it's 2.8 inches and anything less than 2 is bad. So almost an inch of lead way. He wants me on pelvic rest for the next two weeks, no strenuous activity, and come back in two weeks for monitoring and to see if my cervix is any shorter. If it is, they have some sort of something I will have to put in my vagina to help my cervix stay closed. Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and carried their baby to term.
