scoliosis surgery?

I'm 16 and have a 42 degree curve in my back. My doctor said it's my choice to have the surgery or not. I have some pretty bad back pain by the curve but I heard that surgery sometimes doesn't fix that, also my torso is completely uneven but I feel like it's a lot to get the surgery just to fix that. Has anyone had the surgery? What was it like?

My mothers back was way worse, she got the surgery, but she only gets back pains from like being outdoors and running or going on a hike, her scoliosis was like a zig zag almost, so I would expect her to have pains, she's an awesome e r nurse and tells me that the pain goes easily away with a pain lol and some rest, but it doesn't constantly hurt, it's completely and 100 percent ur choice if u want This surgery or not, don't let anyone force u into this! If u do decide to get the surgery I hope u don't regret it, bubye

Get the surgery. I had it. If you can't fix it naturally you really should get it. It's scary but it'll go by fast and it'll all be a whirl. You'll be in pain but you won't really notice half the time. Recovery is a long road. I used to cry thinking about it. Only issue I had was I lost a lot of weight after surgery and I hated my body image. Now I'm proud of my scar. Anything you need to know specifically though feel free to ask!

My cousin had the surgery. She was so scared and hated her parents for wanting her to get it. She was in so much pain before though. After months of anxiety about it, she went through the surgery and she couldn't be better. She is so much more confident now and no pain 😊

Have you heard of the FasciaBlaster? By Ashely Black? 
Look her up, purchase her book. Educate yourself of this tool and it very well may keep you from having to go under the knife.  Best of luck!
