Can Percocets change someone's personality?

My boyfriend will buy Percocets from a buddy of his every time he gets paid I don't believe in doing it but he does. I'll say he spends about $100-120 worth for them each month. When he isn't on them he is so loving and caring towards me but when he takes them he changes he just wants me to be his slut and stuff he won't sleep for days up all day and all night and won't eat anything while he is on them. He gets mad and upset if I am tired and want to sleep at night because I get exhausted from being pregnant. He expects for me to be up all night to have sex with him and if I don't he gets mad and talk to other women on his phone. I am just wondering.

As a recovering drug addict, I can verify that this is likely addict behavior. You probably need to get your stuff and get out of there - go to your mom/dad's or family member's home. You have a little baby to protect and think of now. 
Please consider checking out Al-Anon. It's for family and friends of addicts and alcoholics. You will find a lot of support there. 
The reality is, you cannot make an addict stop. They have to want to stop on their own. And sometimes they have to far further and further down until they hit their bottom.

I don't think Percs are that mind altering (thought I'm opiate resistant so I wouldn't really know they don't work on me) but that sounds like there's other issues and like he's addicted to opiates which is pretty serious.

Percs as a whole are pretty low on the scale as far as opiates go, and they are not stimulants. He's taking a upper and taking the percs as his downer to come off the upper.

Yes, percocet can cause behavioral changes. They can make you aggressive, irritable and sleepless, especially when you take too many or when you start to come down from them. Like any addiction, users just make bad choices and can be real, selfish assholes.

My hubby takes them for chronic pain and  irritability is definitely a side effect for him. But being aware of it, he keeps his temper in check.

BUT, how are you justifying bringing a baby into a relationship with addict. I'm less concerned about his behavior and more concerned about yours. How is this okay for you? Aren't you and your child worth more?

As a recovering opioid addict (4 years sober this October), I would say he definitely has a problem, and I would almost bet money that he's not just using Percocet. And yes, the way he is acting is completely related to abusing opiates. They make you numb not just physically and can have very strong effects mentally and emotionally. They make people do terrible things to those they love.

He needs to quit. And the bottom line is that you need to take care of yourself and your baby right now and he is going to need to be an adult and address this addiction. Quitting was the hardest thing I have ever done, but for his sake I really do hope all he is using are the Percocets, because the more you depend on these pills, the more painful it is to break free. 
I would recommend living somewhere else until he is clean, because the withdrawal is hard for someone to go through and I do not think that would be a good place for you and your baby to be.

Please insist that he gets help. If he doesn't, it will most likely just get worse.

If he isn't willing to get help, you really need to get out and away from him.

It sounds like he's addicted to pain killers. I don't think he's on anything else. I would leave him because that's all he's going to care about

I've got almost two years of recovery and pills, esp Percocet, were my DOC. They relaxed me and gave me more energy. At that time of my life I couldn't care less about sex, and the pills helped me relax enough to want to have sex. I would pop some and go to work or be productive around the house. They affect everyone differently. Any amount of money is too much to spend on pills, that is already addiction or is going to lead to it. Many people get into heroin because it becomes harder to get the effect they want from pills and heroin is cheaper and easier to find. It is so hard to be with someone doing what you said he is. Have a serious talk with him or get out. You don't deserve it. I know I treated people horribly in my past when I was using and I didn't care at the time, but now it devastates me.
