Is it normal to experience psychosis when stressed or anxious?

Okay, so im 18, and when I get really stressed/anxious I hallucinate. It's on,y happened 3/4 times now, I also get paranoid, and I see these people hiding from me or chasing me. 
It leads to a full blown panic attack and I have to run as fast as I can. 
I don't know If I should tell someone like my doctor?
My doctor thinks I have borderline personality disorder, and so I didn't know if this could be linked? Or a symptom? 
It's so fucking scary. 
Also should I tell my uni when I start in September?
