mirena ?!

Okay so I am 6 months post partum, when I first had my son my doctor mentioned the birth control mirena for me since I have migraines really bad she told me she would not give me the pill, I said no but lately I've been terrified of just relying on condoms!
Of course I've been reading all these horror stories about mirena can anyone give me peace of mind? I'm nervous about gaining a bunch of weight or my husband pushing it up my uterus & it getting stuck! How soon can you get it taken out if you don't like it?! Thanks in advance! I just need peace of mind.. I might make an appointment today 😭

I had my baby in December n got it inserted since February. My periods r now a week long instead of 3days n my cramps r alil more intense. My husband can feel the string during sex but I plan on going back to my doc to get it cut shorter. I haven't gained any weight from being on it n I am less moody. Before my baby I was on the shot n was so miserable, I would choose mirena any day over the shot. My doc told me that I can have the same one in for 3yrs n take it out wen I am ready to have another baby

I had the Mirena put in after my 1st son (14 years ago)... not going to bore you too much, but i gained weight and COULD NOT lose ANY weight.... but that wasn't tge worst. I didn't have a period for 3.5 years, so i went and had it taken out... my periods NEVER returned!!! I had to go through 2 years of horkonal treatments now in order to manage to fall pregnant (eventually went for an IUI).... I WISH they would take the Mirena off the market!!

I have had the Mirena twice...both times it fell out. My body just rejects it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had my son in September and got the Mirena in December. I don't have periods anymore but I have put on a TON of weight. My pre pregnancy weight was 110 lbs after I had my son I was 145 lbs. Whenever I went to get the Mirena I was 125 lbs and as of a week ago I am 150 lbs. I guess it's different for everyone but I know that I can't remember a pill so I'll keep my Mirena. I'd say the pros to it is I have had no periods and not have to remember a pill to take everyday. Cons would be weight gain, shedding uterine lining, ovarian cysts and cramps were amplified by 10.

I love the mirena. I had one prior to pregnancy and just got mine at the 8 wk check up. I have never had an issue with mine, it's never moved, no weight gain, no breakouts. It has strings so you can check placement by yourself. Hubby can't poke it through anything. It goes in quick and can be taken out at any time. It does feel like a few painful cramps going in but then it's done.
