Telling FIL about baby

So I'm 14 weeks and my FIL still doesn't know. He's the only immediate family member who doesn't know.. we haven't done a social media announcement for that reason.

We we were expecting my 2nd, my SOs first, he told my SO that he ruined his life having a baby with me. He now loves both of his grandkids and they love grandpa g.

We want to tell him but we're worried on how it'll go. We could wait til he's back in state, in mid june (just in time for the gender reveal), or we tell him now and leave time to process it. We're running out of time.

I wanted to send him maybe a cute grandpa gift or something.. SO says just call and get it over with. Of course we don't know how it'll go down until we do it, it's just nerve wreaking.

What do we do?
