Nexplanon/Implant questions!
Hello! So recently I've been thinking of going on birth control and I like the idea of the implant. I'm going to be 19 here in September and I'll also be starting college. I am not currently sexually active, however my ldr boyfriend is coming to visit me here in a month and I just want to be prepared in case something happens! I really don't want to rely on condoms because I'm terrified of them breaking! Of course I would double up with birth control and condoms but just to be safe! So questions I have are
-what was the process to get the implant
-has it affected your menstrual cycle in a good or bad way?
-would you recommend the implant?
-should I go to planned parenthood or a regular doctor?
I should mention that I live with my mom and I don't really want to discuss it with her because she's a very religious person and I'm pretty sure she's bipolar. I know since I'm 18 I don't have to share any of that information with my parents but I've never even had the sex talk let alone about options, I've had to google everything and I'm still clueless. Please help a sister out!!
