After labor and delivery breastfeeding questions. help please!

I wasn't able to breastfeed my first child and would love to try with my second. I'm a very nervous person and like to know what to expect. When is the first time you breastfeed after giving birth? Is it a private moment with your nurse, yourself and your child? Is it painful? How long does it take for your milk to truly come in? Any input and advice would make me feel much more comfortable and prepared. Thank you in advance!
