Has any of your employers ever let their employees off due to a tornado warning?

If yes, where did you work at that time?

If no, do you wish employers did allow their employees to go home/stop working for safety concerns?

Now we do. Before they never did, and in 05 we had our first tornadoes in 50 years.

If the place of work doesn't have a safe area the employee's can go to, the moment a watch is issued, they are sent home.

I work in a hospital, so that's a big no. We have to make sure our patients are safe.

I used to work in a dental lab, small and very much like family. He would let us go early if he knew bad weather was coming. One of the best bosses I ever had.

Yes I live in Oklahoma and if there is a storm coming in and she knows  I will be driving that way she will let me go early.

We have not been let off for one. Mostly because we've not had an actual warning during work hours. Have had several watches though and he keeps a close eye while we work. Also we have a designated spot to go if there was one. And it's really unsafe to go anywhere with a tornado happening near you.

We had one in my area a month ago. No one knew about it until after. I sit near a bunch of windows. It was dark and raining heavy. I'm a field social worker so my supervisor told us to be careful driving 🤷🏽‍♀️

Why the random tornado questions?  Yeah you shelter when there's a tornado.  An employer doesn't let you leave because cars get destroyed faster than buildings.  Shelter on site

I'm in California where there's no real natural disasters besides earthquakes which are unpredictable. But, I would sure hope an employer would let their staff off if their was a tornado coming that way. That's scary and my life is more important than the money they'd make that day. That's so selfish if they did not allow the staff to go home.

My current employer allows us to go home before they start. 
   
I have worked other places that had shelter on site where we could go if needed. 
   
We don't get them often, but I have been doing drills of some kind since preschool.
