My baby was born premature due to me having a short cervix and bulging bag, and I had been put on bed rest since I was 21 weeks. On may 9th I was admitted into the hospital because my cervix had shortened more and wanted to keep an eye on me and make sure he was not coming that week (I was 24 weeks 5 days). I was at the hospital for a week and the plan was to keep me there until I was 28 weeks, but on thursday, may 18th, I started having contractions and was put on magnesium since 11 am, then I got catheter and by 7pm my contractions had gone away. Around 2am (19th) I started feeling the contractions again and then by 4:30 am my contractions got more intense so the nurse called the Dr. and Dr. checked me and said I was 8cm dilated 80% effaced so they decided to move me to a delivery room. By 5:30 am they checked me again and I was at 9cm and 100% effaced, by 6:30 am my contractions were getting worse and 15 minutes later I called in the Dr and she broke my water, I started pushing but the baby was still to high up so they decided it was best for me to rest so my body wouldn't get tired, after 30 minutes she checked again and said the baby was lower so I did a practice push and his head came out so she told me to wait a minute and then I pushed one more time and he was born at 7:51 am at 26 weeks and I day. And I did this without any pain medication and it was totally worth it. He will stay in NICU for some time but So far baby Jakob has been doing great, he weighed 2lbs exactly and measured 13in long! ☺️👶🏻❤️
