Mucus plug at 16 weeks 3 days?

I went to the bathroom this morning, and this stringy glob of mucus came out (sorry I know, gross). It was mainly clear, with a yellow tint to it. No blood. I looked up pictures of what a mucus plug looked like and that's exactly what it was. I don't believe it was just normal discharge. Is the baby okay?? Has this happened to someone before? This is my first, and I'm 16wks + 3 days. Thank you.
