Tap water for formula?

What kind of water do you use for formula? I've been using tap water but my mom is telling me it's unsafe.

I am stocking up on filtered water. They're like 88cents a gallon at Walmart.

I've only ever knew people who used tap water. Not only do you have to buy formula you have to buy bottled water too?? 🙄 suuuuure

You can use tap water as long as you boil it before you make the formula and give it to the baby.

We used tap water and we have a very healthy happy 16 month old now

If you use tap water you need to boil it twice before using. I think you might even need to boil bottled water before using. But just be aware that boiling does not eliminate led, if that's an issue in your area.
