Did/do you plan to have a hospital birth or home birth?

My sister in law is stuck on the idea of having her baby at home with a midwife.. I don't think I could handle a natural birth, as much as I would love to, I have health problems that could cause complications. Just wondering if other people had home births or want one.

I want a hospital birth. My cousin had 4 at home, all natural. I had another cousin try to do a midwife and natural birth but the baby flipped last minute and she had to have an emergency c section. They almost lost the baby because the midwife told her to stay home and labor and they didn't catch the baby flip.

I think each person is able to make their own best decision for them whether I'd make the same choice or not. A phrase I really like here is "good for her, not for me".

I have had all hospital births. I love epidurals and if there are complications, we are there. I also go to doctors and not midwives. My "what ifs" takes over and I just feel better with hospitals and doctors. I've had friends with midwives and everything is great but for me, it's the ease of mind.

I had my first at home and plan to for the second, assuming I stay a low risk pregnancy. It was an amazing experience, couldn't have asked for more.

I anted to do a home birth mainly because I don't want to pay a billion dollars to the hospital to have a baby lol but then I had complications during pregnancy and put me back on track and had all my kids in the hospital for their safety

I'm planning to do a hospital birth, but would love it to be as natural as possible, other than an epidural since I have a low tolerance for pain and tend to faint easily. I have an anterior placenta, and a few of my other test results put me at a higher risk for preeclampsia so there's no way I'd risk my baby's life (or mine) with a home birth.

I tried to have a home birth with my first. But after two full days of labor and no progress I ended up have long an Emergency C-section. 
We are having twins this time so I am going to the hospital. I may have to have a scheduled c-section but I would love to try a vbac.

My 5 births have all been in the hospital. My first was a C-section. Babies 2-5 have been VBACs. I had a midwife for babies 3-5. I am typically discharged at 24 hours postpartum. My insurance won't cover a home birth, otherwise, I'd give birth at home!
