How long do you plan/are you breastfeeding?

I wanted to try for a year but thinking about stopping at 6 months my supply just keeps decreasing no matter what I try to get it back up

If you nurse on demand your supply will stay up for baby and their needs. Also, as long as baby is having wet diapers etc., then the amount of milk they are getting is prefect. I don't know if this is what you're doing or not, but don't determine how much milk you have by how much you pump. Some women don't respond to a pump the way they respond to baby.

Exclusively for 5 weeks then I want to express so my husband can feed baby too and HOPE that baby will happily go from breast to bottle depending on who is feeding etc

The APA strongly recommends 6 months if you can. Some mothers can't breastfeed at all and the babies grow up healthy on proper formulas. They really don't need breast feeding more than a year.
