Disabled hate.
Omg. So I live in a senior complex because I have lupus and often cannot handle stairs and there's no guarantee for a floor apartment in this city. I guess when it's equal opportunity housing if you're either physically or mentally disabled, you can live in senior conplexes because of their accommodations.
.
Anyway, I found that out because there was this girl I knew from a term in university, she lived here in a technicality because of she has a maths disability that allows her to get extra time on tests in school. She couldn't find any other accommodations (even though she lived all her life in a town less than 40 minutes away, she and her parents didn't start the apartment search until 2 weeks into term.
.
Now this girl is giving me looks and making snide comments whenever I see her in the lobby. I often hear her gossiping to her friends about me when I'm taking my dog out to pee. I've gotten to the point of confronting her and she just brushes it off. It's just infuriating that she's being so rude and ableist saying things like "I see her working in the meat department, she's obviously not that disabled." Not seeming to care that not everyone gets their mommy and daddy to pay for school and all their living expenses. (I have friends whose parents pay for everything, so I'm not hating on those with supportive parents, just those who are entitled and assholes and don't realize that what they have is a blessing)
.
I'm so frustrated with her making comments about how "obviously not disabled" I am. I don't know what to do.
