kick counting

Erin
When do you start kick counting? I'm 25 weeks and my baby is pretty active. I haven't felt her in awhile and concerned. Is it too early to be feeling "10 kicks an hour" or whatever doctors suggest counting ?

You don't need to do kick counts until 28 weeks

Try drinking something cold and sugary and laying on your side for awhile. If you still don't feel anything then it wouldn't hurt to call your doctor

Thank you, usually I do a lot. Especially if I lay down and pay attention to it. I've been lying down here for a while and nothing yet :/

But you should still be feeling your baby move a few times a day, if not it's best to go get checked out

I was never once told to count kicks during my first pregnancy. 31 weeks into my second and still have never been told to count kicks. Both my babies have been very active and I've always been well aware of them. So I guess I just run on intuition instead haha

About 24 weeks is when they say you should start counting. I actually never counted, because he moves enough that I can tell hes doing well. Especially since I don't work or do much, so that makes it even easier for me to tell. But if you work, and/or move around a lot, you should consider doing a count when you get a second to sit.
