What should I do?

So, my boyfriend has a job, however, he only makes $40 a day for 8-12 hour days. His boss threatened to fire him if he left town on a day he was told he had off a week ahead and his bosses daughter is in everyone's business and gets paid more than most of the employees even though she doesn't work. The problem is, he doesn't want to quit until he gets a new job. I want to get a job just so he will quit but the problem is, I'm not supposed to work. I have kidney stones that are constantly traveling between my ureters and kidneys and my body will not pass them. This isn't the first time I've had issues but because of the pain, I can't even get out of bed most days. Should I try to deal with the pain and get a job? I can't get disability, I know that much because my dad just lost his right kidney due to stones and they refuse to give him disability so I know it's not an option for me, especially since I'm only 20. I want to go to school for Vet Tech but if I go, I'll have to take loans because we are so broke. We haven't been able to save a penny for my car insurance which needs to be paid by August or it's gone 😕 I'm scared to get a job because of how much pain I'm constantly in but I feel like that's my only option at this point. I just really need some advice 😭
