Advice about Cholestasis

Delia
Hey mommies. I need some real insight on what your experience was with cholestasis, especially if you developed it in the 2nd trimester. I developed it around 20 weeks, and it's not high but the doctor told me it is unusual that I developed it so soon. They said if by 30 weeks I still have it then baby will have to be closely monitored and I will be induced early. It scares me to think this could end my bundle of joy, or even having to be induced early. Any experience is appreciated!

I had really bad itching everywhere except my hands at 28 weeks and read up on it and went to l&d and got blood drawn to prove thats what it was. Got diagnosed at 30 weeks and started meds 3x a day and nsts 2x a week up until 37 weeks when i had a scheduled c section. With the meds it helped with the itching but it didnt go away until after i delivered. My baby was perfectly healthy as well and didnt need to spend any time in the nicu.

My itching has stopped completely, it lasted only a week or two so I don't think I'll be getting meds. It makes me so mad that I've been doing so well and this happens. Thank you for sharing, it really helps hearing others experiences.

Actually you can develop it as soon as 8 weeks. I had it with my son and pretty sure I have it with this baby. The itching has already started at 12 weeks
