Is it possible to miss a multiple pregnancy at an 8 week scan?

Yes it is. The baby could be hiding behind the other but there's no symtoms or anything to tell you twins until your doctor would confirm

I've read many comments here of mothers who said they only found out a lot later about having twins or even triplets (instead of twins).
Apparently one can hide behind the other.

This is 6 weeks with my didi twins. As soon as they did the transvaginal we could see that there was two sacs in there (although the doctor continued to look around like we couldn't see we were having twins lol). It's possible if you are having identical twins for them to miss it at first but it's pretty uncommon now a days. I know at 8 weeks I was showing a baby bump and it was not bloat so honestly it could go either way if you feel like you are showing.
