Update:I have my own car and I drive myself most places but many people want to carpool for many things and become offended and don't want to hang out anymore because I won't carpool. I just don't think I should have to play chaperone 24/7 simply to stay safe on the road. It isn't only my life but every other life on the road out there and people need to see that. It isn't as simple as 'just drive yourself' because even if I do I'm at an equal risk of dying because of texting and driving because these people on their phones literally surround me on the roads! It's ridiculous! How can you people not see how important and how dangerous this is!?

We will be in the car and their social media or texts ping or they want to change the song and I ask them politely to please put the phone down while they're driving. I immediately get chewed out and they go on the defensive calling me names and a coward and a worry wart. I say im sorry but I don't like people playing with my life. You are seriously fucked up if you think your tweet is more important than my life. I'm so sick of this shit. Half of them then purposely play on their phones to scare me. I've had taxi drivers do this! I've had friends stop being my friends because I ask them to put it down. I've seen too many people die from texting and driving and people seem to think it's a fairytale and it would never actually happen to them. Its common courtesy to not play on your phone when a passenger is in the car. Most of the time when a wreck happens due to texting and driving it's not the offender who gets hurt but the passengers and other people on the roads. Its sick that we live in a world where we are so self centered that we don't consider the life of the newborn baby in the car in front of us our own kids in the backseat our best friend in the passenger seat and even our own lives enough to put our phones down for 15 fucking minutes while we get to our destination. If it is so important pull the fuck over! WHY AM I RIDICULOUS FOR NOT WANTING YOU TO KILL ME AND MY HUSBAND?! Why is me asking you to be safe grounds for namecalling blocking and unfriending? YOU ARE DRIVING A 2 TON DEATH MACHINE! Stop being a dick and don't text and drive! What do you ladies think of this? Does this happen to you often? What happens when you ask them to stop? Am I being ridiculous? Why do they get so mad and why do people go to the lengths of stopping hanging out with me? Please help me understand where I'm going wrong? Is this really not as important as I think it is?
