Is my baby overweight?

He's 6 weeks old and 10 pounds 7 ounces, and 22 inches long. Is he over weight? He was 5 pounds 7 ounces when he was born at 35 weeks. Do preemies gain weight faster?

Keep in mind that they might look big now with all of those cute rolls but once they start walking, they all go away☹️. I would not worry about it unless the doctor is concern. I've only heard of one baby going on a baby diet and that was my friend who is the same age as me!

There needs to be big babies and small babies or there wouldn't be a growth chart. If your baby's doctor hasn't mentioned anything I wouldn't worry about it.

If you're nursing there isn't a way to over feed at the breast. If you're bottle feeding breast milk or formula look into paced bottle feeding since you can over feed a bottle fed baby.
