iui question

Hey ladies!  We are in the middle of our first iui.  I go in for my first scan tomorrow morning.  How early before the iui itself did you partner go in to give the sperm?  I'm nervous as my husband has to be out of town for a couple days, just nervous that it will fall on around the time they want to do it. So wondering if he can go in earlier.  I will ask my provider tomorrow at the appointment, but just want to know your guys experiences!  Thanks!
