Baby size associated with labor pain?

My son has been regularly measuring about 2 weeks bigger than expected, but both my husband and I are very tall so I am not too surprised. When I told this to a friend, she said I should look into getting induced if he's late at all because the bigger the baby the more it hurts. Is this true? I mean technically it seems like it should be true, but I've heard other moms say it hurts the same no matter how big or small the baby is. For the record, I'm not planning to get induced, I just want to know what to expect.
