Masturbate?

So I'm Christian and I feel really guilty whenever I masturbate. Is it okay to masturbate when you're Christian? Is it sinning? I'm so confused.

I won't get into the issues I have with Christianity and the views on sex and biology (as a former Christian, well, more agnostic bc I believe but I don't do the bible/church/prayer anymore), but honestly, if you're already masturbating, please don't feel guilty. I would make peace with your own sexuality and really pray about/think about your own views on everything :) don't let someone else tell you what's right and wrong in your own sexuality/body, bc your views on your relationship with God is strictly personal and up to you :) its yoir relationship, so if you feel wrong about something, that is only between you and Him :) I was also told masturbating is wrong bc of lust, but I didn't grow up in the church and have been doing it since I was little so I didn't feel guilt or shame over it (during the lesson I remember I felt like all eyes were on me only, so I did feel a little guilty then, but it went away after and I didn't care lol maybe bc I was young and rebellious but it didn't affect me bc I didn't let it). I strongly feel it should only be up to you and God and no one should have any say in it :)

Please, FIRST, look up the definition of "lust" here - there are many different uses, in definitions, for it.: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lust There are quite a few places throughout the scriptures wherein "lust" is mentioned. When used in application to sexuality, it may lead to sexual intercourse or masturbation. Regardless of the contextual usages of the word, the scriptures always ask us to guard against "lust". But we don't ... and, for most people, never will. And, when we don't - and as Christians - this is where Christ comes into the issue. He died for all of our sins. Period. It is only through Him that there will be absolute redemption. Therefore, when we sin (ANY sin) asking for forgiveness to God, through Christ, is all that's necessary. Don't ever make it more complicated .... and don't ever make more of it than simply that. Ask forgiveness for ALL of your sins. Christ forgave, and loved, all heathens, prostitutes, homosexuals ... ALL sinners, and provided a direct path to Him, and His Father, in Heaven for eternity. Make no more of it all than simply this. This was His only intention ... nothing more. So, " ... go, and sin no more"!! But WE WILL!! Over and over and over again. ASK FOR FORGIVENESS! If God, and Christ are truly in your hearts you will never have anything to worry about. Give Him a break!!! Christ promised this ... many-many times. Always remember: Anyone less than God & Christ is imperfect - and will forever be. We are far from perfect beings. God/Christ obviously knows this, and God did so when He created us. Therefore, if God/Christ were such that any sinner could never be with Him in Heaven (which is contradictory and ridiculous ... IMPERFECT), Heaven would be ONLY FOR GOD AND CHRIST. We would never make it. For the scripture says "All men sin and fall short of the Kingdom ... ", BUT, through Christ, redemption is forever complete. 
The Jewish faith have their redemptions, as well, however Christ will further all of this with them upon His return. More on this is found in the scriptures, as well. God is as equally infinite as He is finite; for He is all things and able to make them come to pass at His Will. No, God and Christ want LOTS of company in Heaven. This is just ONE of the reasons Christ left us, after His rising, to " ... go, now, and prepare a place ..."

In the Book of Genesis, Onan, son of Judah, in fulfillment of the laws of levirate marriage was to impregnate his brother Er's widow, Tamar, in order to raise offspring from the union in his brother's name. In order to avoid raising descendants for his late brother, however, Onan "spilled his semen on the ground when he went in to his brother's wife, so that he would not give offspring to his brother" (Genesis 38:9).
God had a specific plan for Onan's semen, in this particular case.  It was His directive.  However, in spite of God's directive - and commandment, Onan disobeyed and was punished, by death (“smite), by the Creator.  
This is the ONLY scriptural text (old or new testaments) which, in any way, mentions "spilling" one's "seed to the ground" - or "wastes" semen in masturbation.  Further, there are no commandments whatsoever against masturbation in either of the testaments.
Semen is expelled in three ways, (1) sexual relationships, (2) masturbation and, (3) (with males) nocturnal emissions - or what is called "wet dreams".   None of which is forbidden by the scriptures!
It is very sad, very bad, and most unfortunate, that various religious denominations have used the "Onan Incident" to extreme to address "any masturbation" and under any circumstances.  This is not the intent of the scriptural writing addressing Onan.  These religious sects have completely omitted that it was God's (specific) DIRECTIVE TO ONAN not to, in any way, loose his (one time only) semen because God had a special purpose for ONE of the chosen sperm cells to produce a child by Tamar.  (What Onan did AFTER the implantation of that chosen sperm cell would have been Onan’s business!)  Don't ever let anyone further mis-direct you on this issue.  Direct them to Genesis 38-9 and have them thoroughly read it in its' fullest context.  (Be sure they UNDERSTAND IT and what is going on in that passage.)  Then, tell them to thoroughly scour BOTH texts (Old and New Testaments) of the Bible, and tell you where they find any scriptural writings which completely forbid masturbation - except that ONE directed to Onan by God.  (I have done this to religious zealots many-many times.)  They WON'T find anything more.  Period.  It's simply not there in either testament.  This will end the “masturbate issue” once and for all ... and they will have learned something in the process.  (Hopefully, they won't try and misdirect, and confuse, anyone else in the future either.) 
Finally, always be extremely cautious of religious "zealots" - especially ones which try and conform you to THEIR way of thinking and using any Biblical scriptures for it.  (Most of the time those interpretations are corrupt and twisted (perverted, if you will) to suit their way, or intentions, of "thinking".) Always have them SHOW you the scripture!  Then read that passage YOURSELF!  NEVER FORCE the scripture to comply with your way of thinking or intentions. NEVER simply take anyone's word for what the scripture says without researching it for yourself - thoroughly.  Be complete.  Learn and know for yourself.  This is just common sense ... or should be.
