Saline Sonogram
Hi Ladies 👋🏽 I've been TTC for 8 months now and I'm 38. After 6 months I went to my Gyn who handles Fertility issues. She ran a few test for me and suggested my DH to get a semen analysis. All came back normal and she also scheduled an ultrasound for me. Upon doing the saline sonogram she noticed my cervix was really tight. She could not get the catheter through my cervix, so she used an instrument to open my cervix and was able to get into my cervix to perform the procedure. My uterus was normal/good. So the issue was a closed cervix known as cervical stenosis. I had no prior history of surgeries, pregnancies, issues with scarring. I tell this story to let you ladies know that getting testing done can sometimes find the root of the problem. I'm not pregnant yet and hoping this month is my BFP. My doctor sounded hopeful that this was the cause, because the sperm possibly we're having a hard time getting through my cervix.
PSA: the saline ultrasound was a little painful. For me more so because she had to open my cervix. I suggest taking a pain killer beforehand. I had cramping afterwards and bloating.
