How I'm kicking endo's a**
Thought maybe my story may help someone out there, so I figured I'd share. ⚠️ Warning, this may get a little long.
A little history, suffered from ovarian cysts since early high school. Always had HORRIBLE menstrual pain too. No one could figure out why I had this and dismissed it many times as "bad cramps" and was told cysts are "normal". Eventually in my early 20's one of my ovarian cysts grew a little over the size of a tennis ball with no sign of stopping growth. I was put on birth control to see if that would help shrink it... had to stop after two months because of horrific side affects. I will never touch that stuff again 😵 Then opted for surgery since I just wanted this thing out! The cyst was getting too painful. I made an appointment with a surgeon that was extremely reputable and was "the guy to go to for this". He diagnosed me with endo stage 4 and said that I had so much that I needed to have my left ovary removed, part of my vagina, and at a later time he would need to remove my whole colon.... no lie, this was exactly what he said. I actually almost passed out in the office when he said that. I thought I was only going in for a cyst and here I was being told I needed to lose organs... WELL, I went on to get a second opinon. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINON PEOPLE! Best advice my mom has ever given me or else I'd be walking around without a colon 👍🏻
I found a different surgeon who said he'd only remove part of my left ovary and laser off the rest of the endo without removing pieces of the organs. Went with him. Surgery went perfect. Recovery was fast. He warned me that my endo would return 7 months later. It did. When it returned, it returned with revenge. It was so bad that I couldn't move from my bed for a month. My husband had to carry me to the bathroom, and don't get me started on even trying to go to the bathroom... the only options I was given were to have another surgery, which would eventually be a hysterectomy, and for the time being to go on strong pain killers. I threw my hands up desperate and decided to explore the natural route because I really felt like I had nothing to lose at this point. I found an acupuncturist who studied in China for 30 years and had been practicing for more... went to him and explain my situation. Within 3 sessions my endo pain was gone. I continued seeing him once a week for maintenance. I gave up soy and dairy. I then decided to focus on the remaining symptoms. Got rid of my endo belly with a few rounds of oxypowder (natural colon cleanse). I think my clean diet helped too. And am shrinking my current ovarian cysts with iodine (lugols brand). I'd also like to add that iodine completely dissolved my uterine fibroid, took away my menstraul cramps, my mild joint arthritis, and is helping to now shrink my breast cysts. Please check out iodine! It is said that endo is a sign of iodine deficiency.
So now, here I am sitting outside on this beautiful sunny day planning to go on some 8 mile hike this weekend WITH my period. Endo doesn't need to take over your life. Don't give up. This is what worked for me. Maybe someone out there can find either some hope with this or some relief. I wish all you STRONG 💪🏻 women luck✨
