All I'm going to say is fetal alcohol syndrome is 100% preventable. 100%. Why screw with a sure thing?

It depends on genetics. The amount of alcohol it takes to cause damage to an unborn child changes from child to child and depends on their genes and their mother's genes. Some people can get wasted every single night and their baby will be fine, others can have a single drink and it cause bad effects. But unless you have extensive genetic testing done on both you and the fetus it's impossible to know how much it will take to cause permanent damage. One drink every now and then should be fine for most women but why risk it?

I voted occasionally and that's because I've had Teenie tiny sips of my husbands beer 2-3 times throughout my whole pregnancy.  I hate alcohol but crave it so badly when I'm pregnant .  Just a taste on the tongue once every few months helps subdue the crave.

I've taken a sip (like not enough to even swallow) of my husband's cocktails when he's experimenting at home- so I can't say "never" but I'm definitely not "drinking occasionally"
