Any of you going for IUD? If so what kind

I have read about the copper IUD and Mirena and I cant decide. Im a first mom and This is my first time using birth control (besides condom) any recommendations or experiences?

Honestly I'm getting my Mirena out tomorrow! I can't stand all the side effects. I feel like a completely different person. I started pp on the pill, then switched to IUD. 
Everyone's different and I know they work great for a lot of people!

I had the Mirena for 3.5 yrs before taking out. Then, we got pregnant on our first try -- which was like 2 cycles after getting my IUD out (we were living apart during that time)! Hormones just affect everyone differently. I'm 8 weeks postpartum and planning to get the Mirena again soon.

I've had both kinds. I got the paragaurd (copper) after my second, it was great other than it caused heavier periods with more cramping. On the bright side I got pregnant the same month I had it taken out to ttc. After this baby I got the Mirena at 6 weeks pp and I've had it 7 weeks now, I'm still adjusting to it but have no side effects so far. I will say this which ever kind you get you will bleed for awhile until your body gets use to it.

I use the copper because it has no hormones in what so ever. So when I came off it I was fertile instantly.

I'm in the same boat . Going with mirena in August . Gonna try it out . We only did pull out for 4 years but I really don't want to get pregnant these next two years . Want to enjoy my daughter and have my body heal.  I picked mirena cause I hear your periods are better and it's not as much hormones as the pill .
