Is an associates degree worth celebrating?

I got pregnant my second year of college. (3rd semester) I finished the semester and the took a break when my baby was born, planning to go back but never did. I was already engaged when we got pregnant so we flew out of the country and did a destination wedding before I was showing. My husband was a senior credit wise when I was a freshman so he's already done with school & now works full time while I'm a SAHM. Well I've finally decided to finish the GWO credits I have left to get my A.A. I'd like to get my B.A one day but since I plan to be a SAHM for a while I feel like there's no rush. Anyway, I started courses online and am doing really well and felt so proud of myself! I was telling a family member how I was planning on taking a pic with my baby and my diploma so one day they could see that I finished school even while home & raising them but the family member said not to do that because it's embarrassing to just have an A.Aand "not an accomplishment". So now I feel embarrassed about it and don't even want to tell anyone! Should I just keep it to myself or is it worth announcing? My DH wanted to take me out to celebrate when I finish (I had a very awful senior year of hs and wasn't able to walk at graduation or have a graduation party because I was hospitalized so I always felt like I missed out on those experiences) so he wanted to make sure we celebrate this but now I feel silly about it.
