What to do when your baby's name is everywhere???

My husband and I decided on a name for our little guy almost a year and a half ago way before we were pregnant, and now we are seeing the name EVERYWHERE. Do we ditch the name in favor of something less used? Or go with it and hope he doesn't have 14 of them in his school?

One thing I've consistently told my husband is that I do not want a common/popular name for our baby. My name is Emily...along with everyone else. Lol!! I always had multiple Emily's in every single class/work environment. I always had to go by my first name and last initial and I hated it. I have actually decided not to use names that have recently become popular. Emily was the number one name for 8 years, so I think many times I see a name becoming "popular" and I'm immediately turned off! Maybe use as a middle name? Good luck!!

I think it depends on how set you are on it, and if it's a family name/sentimental to you. I'm also an Emily and have never minded that it's common. When my son was born, we learned that one of the names we were considering was #3 on the list of top boy names at the hospital that year. It was just a name we liked. We ended up choosing a family name that was not either name we had planned on deciding between. His name is also not uncommon, but a family name, which was important to me.

Maybe keep it on the list and decide when you meet him. You don't want to settle on a name.

I'm in the same boat. We picked out a little girls name years ago when we were dating/ engaged and now 4 years later we're finally having our little girl and the name is everywhere 😒
I've had my heart set on it for so long though I think we're gonna keep it

We were kinda in the same boat - we went with something different. Our original name was Stella Luna (which I would still consider for our second if we have one, which I doubt).  Stella had become so popular, I kinda fell out of love with it. And I love what we have chosen now, and i am 100% sure that's what her name was meant to be.
