Dogs and Newborns...
Wanted to see what some other mommas had to say about this. My boyfriend and I have a 50-60 lb pit bull/lab mix. He is a SWEETHEART but has issues being around people. Anyone new and he tries to hump them. Now I or my boyfriend will of course be with/watching our son at all times except when we're sleeping. Because of the anxiety our dog has and his tendency to hump EVERYTHING I just worry about the new baby & him staying in the room. He has knocked down a two year old at a function and humped her--among other family members. He is neutered but it still keeps happening even with obedience training. I proposed that I wanted to transition his dog bed out of our room and into the living room since he loves that room and the couch but my boyfriend isn't convinced-- this dog was his baby first, but he's still a DOG, I'd rather avoid an issue before it becomes one. How can I soften the idea of moving him without being forceful? We obviously love our dog but the baby comes first.
