My doctor has decided to induce me tomorrow at 39 weeks due to start and stop labor, horrible headaches, and high blood pressure the last couple times. For those that were induced, were you already dilated and if so did that make it easier? I've got a head start at 3.5cm and fully effaced

I've had three inductions. My fourth is in a little over 2 weeks when I'll be 39 weeks. Fussy I was at 37w5d when my water broke but wasn't dilated or in labor. Third was at 37w5d for preeclampsia and I was at 1cm only. Both those took over 24 hours from start to finish.

My second I was having blood pressure issues waa already dilated to 3 or 4cm and I was 39w4d. That was my quickest and smoothest induction.  None of the three were bad but being a bit further along and already starting to dilate naturally seemed to speed things along. You'll do great!

Was doing a membrane sweep an option? That could help kick start you. I was going to be induced and that helped me I wasn't dilated at all so can't answer your actual question :)
