Planning your own baby shower?

Question

So a lot of people from my family and my boyfriends family are asking if I'm having a baby shower, but no one has offered to plan one for me. Is it wrong for me to plan my own? I'm not wanting to plan anything too extravagant as I have my sister's wedding and my birthday in July and then my baby will be due in October.

I don't think there's anything wrong with  throwing yourself  one. Especially if people are asking about it. I wasn't going to have one because I don't have many people that would care enough to show up but my dad decided he is going to throw one for us.

We are planning our own coed, friend and family barbecue baby shower. A few family members are helping with food otherwise it's going to be pretty simple and laid back.

I did both of my showers but of course had help by boyfriend and grandma.
