Should people be able to leave the military when they want?

•• from my understanding when someone signs away their civic liberties and an enlistment contract they are obligated to stay until their contract is fulfilled (unless they are deemed unfit to perform their duty or for some other reason(s) are discharged)

•• Should people be able to leave when they want (within reason of course because you can't just get up and quit in the middle of a battlefield) when THEY feel as though they cannot emotionally and physically handle the stress?

•• would allowing this lower the amount of suicide & drug addiction within the military?
