I work at a daycare and I have a foster kid in my class who I love to death I've recently been told that it is his last day today Because he's being taken to a new foster family because his biological mom who is currently in prison doesn't want him being in a foster home with a black mother... first I want to know how does the mom still have a say if she's currently in jail and could the foster mom he's with now sue for racial discrimination?

If my child were in foster care I would certainly want to have a say in any way that I could... she is still a mother even if she can't parent at the moment. However I do find it sad that a kiddo would be moved out of a safe stable home because of something like this. There are so many factors that go into finding the right placement for kids in care.

Even though she is in prison she still has rights. A family member probably told her all about her sons foster family or she can call up the social worker or even child services and ask. It depends on the crime she committed and the type of prison she is in. I'm shocked they actually are moving her son to a new family though. There's probably more to this story. I feel bad for the boy, he's definitely better off growing up without all that hatred.

What an awful person. Why does she have any say in her child's life. Is that what the current foster mom said? How does she even know?

As wrong as it is (if the foster mother is doing a good job and the child has bonded) It's still her child so if she still has custody over him and will have him back in her care when she is released then she still has a say. It may be more down to cultural preferences rather than blatant racism?

How does the mother even know that the child is in the care of a black woman? So the drugged up trash bag mother still has say? She couldn't take care of the kid in the first  place, she doesn't need to bother to try and parent now.

Who gives a crap what color the wonderful person is who's caring for a neglected child. The criminal shouldn't have a say what happens to their child as long as the child is cared for properly.
