Kids at baby shower?

What's a nice way to tell people to not bring their kids to the shower? 
I had no clue this was a thing or it needed to be said but apparently it does

Invitations have already been sent out. Didn't think "adults only" needed to be on there

What's the problem with kids being there? 
I've never been to a shower where kids were not allowed.

I get it but at the same time why should people leave there kids else where just to celebrate yours?

I went to a baby shower and they had kids. They kept popping the balloons and destroying the decorations I was omg. The sister hand made the decorations she was so upset. The moms didn't pay no attn to the kids. A lot of people left before the shower was over and later apologized and said, it was because they couldn't play games or nothing because of the wild kids.

I can't stand kids at a shower. We just did my sisters show and 4 people brought theirs without telling anyone! There was a scramble for chairs. If people rsvp'd with kids we told them no kids.

I think it definitely needs to be said explicitly - - like others have said, kids are generally welcome given that it's a bunch of women on a weekend celebrating your kid. Since invitations are already out, do a follow - up (maybe email?). I like the wording that someone else suggested about daddies keeping the kids.

There were kids at my last baby shower. It drove me insane. I couldn't get myself to tell them no kids. No one would of showed up if I had. Good luck with that one. Hope it goes well. I'm of no help.

I have two daughters and allowed  children at my shower. Most of my friends are mom's and duh I'm having a kid. They were adorable and entertained with balloons coloring books and stickers. Wouldn't have wanted it any other way!

If you have not already sent out invitations, I would just put "adults only please" on the invitation.
