Baby measuring large...what happens next??

Question

So I'm currently 32 weeks and apparently my baby is measuring about 5lbs.  No GD or any other major complications so far.  Does anyone know what typically happens when baby is on the large side early on like this?  My doctor said we'll just watch it.  But do they induce early?  Or would they recommend a c-section?   Just wondering what I'm in for.  TIA!!

Ultrasounds aren't accurate for measuring baby. Get a second opinion

Like the other ladies said, ultrasound estimates can be off by as much as a couple pounds! If you're otherwise healthy and your doctor isn't concerned you should be just fine. I know in cases where women have GD or have a smaller than average pelvis some doctors may induce or schedule a cesarean.

With my second baby he was suddenly measuring 42 weeks at 37. My doctor ordered an ultrasound but he came naturally the next day at 37+2 weighing 8lbs 7oz and 21 inches long. He was a big boy for his gestational age. Had he stayed till 40 weeks I woulda had a 10 pounder lol His labor and delivery was actually a lot faster and easier than his older brother who was only 6lbs 5oz!

According to an ultrasound at 39.4 my daughter was "at least 9 1/2 lbs". She was born 2 days later at 7 lbs 12 oz. I don't trust ultrasound measurements at all...
