5 yrs together and I want to get married

Ive been with my bf for going on 5 years nxt month and I want to marry him. We've talked about getting married, but it seems like I want it to happen more than him, Im always the one bringing up the subject and bring up different "what ifs". his answers are very breif and he agrees with me most of the time. He says he does want to marry and that 1 day it will happn. Im at the point where i would be happy doing it through the courts and skipping the whole wedding and ring. Im not sure if bcus his parents are divorced, he might not feel the need/the difference it would make.

For me, marriage is so beautiful and powerful that it is something i absolutely want to experience, sooner rather than later. And im not sure if not getting married would be a deal breaker for me.

I guess what I'd like to know, is how long were you with your SO becore getting married?

Is not getting married a deal breaker?

Or am I overreacting/overthinking?
