When are you supposed to start giving your baby water? I know some people do when they start eating solids, but our ped never mentioned that so we haven't been doing that.

My pediatrician said if you are thirsty baby is likely thirsty as well. I had asked at 6 months when it was starting to warm up

My doctor said my baby could have up to 9 oz of water a day. At his 6 month checkup. Because solids started to constipate him a lot.

I offer it during meal times and when it's really hot. Sometimes when I'm drinking water she'll reach for it and scream so I give it to her then.

I give mine water, especially in this crazy hot weather we've been having by us. Your body goes through water so quickly, and it's easy to dehyrate. I also give with meals as our ped said that will help avoid constipation, and so far we've had no problems! Not sure if that's what did it or not lol. She'll go though half-to a full sippy cup a day depending on what we're doing 😃

I started at 6 months in a soft top sippy cup. Just with food or if we're outside and it's really hot. Not more than a few ounces per day.

We're in Phoenix, AZ. It's expected to hit 121 F on Wednesday. We broke 100 in early May, and I asked my ped at his 6 month appointment if I could give the poor man some water. She said to offer him a couple ounces a few times a day. He drinks about 4 ounces of water a day, sometimes more sometimes less.
