are hard bottom shoes necessary for my 11 month old?

My mom tells me that my baby must wear hard bottom shoes in the house all day to help her walk. My baby is learning how to walk/is walking fine bare foot in the house. What are your thoughts?

Bare foot is best! It's more natural and lets them feel around.

No. Hard bottom shoes are not good for their feet. Barefoot is best. Soft soled such a leather is preferred if shoes are necessary. They need to feel the floor/ground to learn how to balance.

We have a few pairs of Robeez they are soft sole shoes for when babies are first learning to walk. Orthopaedic recommended!! Super cute styles! My daughter does great in them! She's almost walking :)

No that's not true. My baby is walking and she never wears shoes yet. She's been walking about 3 weeks. I'll get around to getting her some real shoes when she's fast enough to run away from me. We don't have her walking in public places like stores, restaurants or parks yet. That's when I think real shoes are necessary.

I remember someone saying to be that whilst they can't walk there is no need for shoes as this helps with their foot development. Also they use their toes to help ground them and they learn to balance. Of course if your outside with uneven grounds etc then yes shoes.

I just brought my daughter two pairs of shoes from stride rite. The soft bottom is supposed make her think she's bare foot but is still getting the support she needs. I hear that bare foot is best so they're good for when we go places.

Until yesterday, he had hard bottoms she's when we went to visit a friend. He's walking and standing was so much more balanced. I know got him some comfortable hard bottoms for at home.

My son just turned 11 months last Sunday and he has only worn hard bottom shoes while outside on hot days. He has been walking since 8 months on his own and now he runs around the house. It's actually recommended to have them shoeless until the learn to walk.
