I just went to my daughter's 9 month check up and they had me fill out a questionnaire about lead. I answered "yes" that we lived in a home that was built before 1950 and the doctor told me to take my daughter down to the children's lab for a blood test to see her lead levels. Idk why I didn't question this more, but I did it because the doctor suggested it. The blood draw was terribly traumatic and she was moving so much that her vein collapsed and we were told to come back and do it again once the bruising subsidies. Obviously I feel terrible. Why didn't I question this more? Why did I make my 9 month old get her blood drawn for this? Has anyone else had to do this? Should we go back? Is this test really necessary?
