I still can't believe it
pregnancy was terrifying for me. I didn't have complications, but I felt I would.
Beforehand, I weighed 85lbs. Healthy just skinny. Picture below is me 7 weeks pregnant.
All the way back in middle school, I remember girls saying I wouldn't even be able to have sex because of how my body is.
Fast forward to my 3rd trimester:
My ob brought up possible C-section. My husband I were both terrified at the thought. She said she wanted to let me try vaginally first, though.
Until I was in the delivery room being told that they could see the hair on his head and I was pushing, I didn't think I could deliver vaginally. I'm still surprised I did.
Yes, I had a 2nd degree episiotomy because I started to naturally tear and it would have caused more damage than the episiotomy. Not just skin and tissue but the muscles as well. Luckily, didn't feel it thanks to good ol' epidural which I made it to 5cm of pain without.i commend those who go full natural. I couldn't do it.
All births are equal. Thus is nothing against any other form. Just some of us are surprised at how our bodies work and that they managed to do their job.
