baby very hard to burp... suggestions?

My baby girl is 3 weeks old and SO hard to burp!!! I've tried leaving her forward patting back, over the shoulder, all the traditional methods. And then she gets terrible hiccups literally after every single feeding. Help!!

We always rubbed our babies in circles on their backs to burp. They had reflux and I was told regular patting was too irritating for their esophagus. Usually using a gentle massaging method, starting low back and working up, worked best. But if they didn't burp after after a few minutes I gave up. Sometimes they just didn't burp!

If you are breastfeeding, babies won't  usually burp as often because they won't get the air like they would with bottle feeding.

Had the same problem with our baby boy. Pediatrician told us not to pick him up for burping right away when he's done eating, give him 5 minutes lying down, so the little bubbles in his tummy merge into one bigger bubble. After 5 minutes when we pick him up, sometimes he gives us a nice big burp before he gets to burping position.

Same thing! My boy is 3 weeks today and hard to burp and his hiccups are crazy! They last a while too!!

Following! My daughter does not like to let go of her burps, but farts like a trooper! She's had a couple of colicky nights because that and a stressful few days (hospital visits with a 4-6 day old baby through bangalore's monsoon traffic; not fun.)

Would like to avoid what happened yesterday; explosive poopy fart in the middle of a traffic jam, with super heavy rain falling, 40 minutes from home 😭 could I calm her down? No I could not! Didn't want to risk changing her in the car either as I'm worried she'll roll off her changing mat if we go over one of the many deep potholes...
