boyfriend doesn't plan anything. never wants to go out and have fun.

I'm a 20 year old in an amazing relationship with my boyfriend of 9 months but there is one problem... My boyfriend doesn't plan any dates! He hasn't even taken me out in an "official" date yet and it bothers me a bit. I love him to bits but I want to feel special every once in a while. I also had brought up to him that I would like for him to plan things but Everytime he says that that I'm unappreciative since he lives an hour away to come see me. We play video games together and it's fun but that just got boring. It's wat basically brought us together but I want to do something different. He doesn't even Have to spend any money. I just want to feel special and not the man in the relationship trying to plan things. And when I do try to plan things . He doesn't want to do anything. Just sit in the house all day 🙄. Like I said I love my boyfriend and he has brought so much light into my life after so much miserablness of my past. Just How can I talk to Him about this so we can do more things and create amazing memories?
