Beautiful baby girl!! Born 6/5/17
Well here is my story...
At 40+4 the husband and I headed to the hospital to get induced because I was not dilated or softening at all. (Family curse). We got to the hospital and checked in at 730am and DR. Came in and placed cytotec pills in my cervix. And now we wait...
My mom shows up around 1030am (we didn't want anyone there too soon thinking it was going to be an all day process.) She stayed for a little while and tried to braid my hair when the nurse came in and put me back on the monitors... my mom ended up leaving for about an hour. (She lives down the road from the hospital)
All of sudden the nurse rushes in and flips me on my side and puts me on oxygen... my little girls heart rate started dropping. Got it back up and then it would drop again.
In comes the DR. And he wants to try pitocin because apparently every time I was having contractions her heart rate would drop and he wanted to see if she could handle them... The contraction I was having were nothing and I could barely feel them (on the monitor they were in the 20s) and it was making her heart rate drop. Well 30mins on pitocin and he stops it and says we need to get her out now and the crew for the c section would be there in about 15 mins.
Luckily one of the nurses in the room with me during my c section was an old friends mom and it was nice having someone in there I knew while I was being prepped.
After I was set up with my spinal and everything my husband was able to join us.
My beautiful baby girl Olivia Lynne was born at 1:35pm weighing 8lbs 5oz and was 21inches long. The reason her heart rate was dropping was the cord was wrapped around her whole body 3 times preventing her from dropping further and she pooped inside of me.
As much as I didn't want a c section, I wasn't about to get angry for having one. I wanted my baby out safe and healthy. C sections suck but I would rather have my baby in my arms than worry about a scar.
