Period Sex

So normally when im on my period I get like 1000000000 times hornier than usual because of hormones right, but my fiancé refuses to have sex with me during my period. And I understand that it an be messy or whatever, but he says theres higher risks of infections. I know its true, but i dont have any sti's or std's and i tried telling him he can use a condom, but he is just really closed minded about that. Any thoughts or advice?
