What do you really need to pack in your hospital bag?

FTM here and wondering what is really needed in a hospital bag?

Phone and phone charger, something to go home in (I like that I brought 2 options), flip flops/slippers, large pads, snacks, Gatorade, a few baby going home outfits in different sizes (you never know what will fit), diapers, baby hat, baby blanket. I think that's all I really needed. My hospital didn't provide anything and I didn't need to stay overnight.

And make sure to ask for a spray bottle for peeing. You'll need it!

All of the above. I would add disposable briefs because it really is messy and the pads won't be enough. Maybe some snacks because there might not be much to buy near your ward. Plus nipple cream if you plan to breastfeed - no matter how well your little one latches on, it will hurt in the beginning! These are the things I wish I'd packed but didn't haha!
