how much do you spend a month on babies?

so Im 20 and pregnant, and I'm going to be a single mother.. father will NOT be in my baby's life.. I read on google that the average you spend on baby expenses is 12,000 the first year, and that's literally my annual income 😒😒😒😒 like my mom will be able to help out a little bit, but if it's really that expensive, idk how ill survive at all.. 🙃🙃🙃

It's all about making smart choices. Instead of the $40 or $50 dollar brand of diapers, you can get $30 box of luvs or $20 box of parents choice. Same thing with wipes. You can get wic or breastfeeding or pump. You dont need tons of clothes. Just wash what you have. You can buy gently used clothes for your baby. Buy things from offer up or craigslist or good will. People buy excessively and you don't actually need expensive things or toys when they're little

We spend about $30/mo on diapers and wipes. I breastfeed so that's free and I make all her food myself so that's just the same cost as what I eat. We had a baby shower so thankfully we got all her essentials as gifts. Those are our only expenses and she's 7 1/2 months.

It all depends on a lot of things but luckily after our baby shower and some help from grandma other than formula we didn't buy much for the first year and a half. We used store brand formula and spent about $50 a month. I'm already stock piling for #2 👍🏻

When I was pregnant we spent probably $1000 for all of her gear. Formula costs a lot but you can get WIC (breastfeeding is free!) and most breast pumps can be covered by insurance. My daughter is almost 2 and we don't have to spend much besides diapers, wipes, desitin, her favorite foods and some toys. Clothes can add up too but you don't have to get those every month - just stock up on sales for the seasons ☺️☺️ we got an article saying we'd be spending a shit ton but we haven't and our daughter is well provided for :) when they get older and need cell phones and school supplies it's a whole different story
