piercing phase?

so i've heard so many parents not let their kids get piercings because it's just a phase, but how many of y'all have had piercings since you were teens to however old y'all are now?

My mom let me get my ears double pierced and my cartilage pierced when I was under 18.

I BEGGED for a nose ring when I was 14 (child of the 90's and Faith Evans rocked the HELLOUTTAIT!) but ma said "HELL no." Lol. Had to try and make it work with magnetics from Claire's! 🤣

I didn't care enough to bitch about it, so when I turned 18 it was on.

I'm 34 now and have removed a few, but I FINALLY got my nose ring when I was 30. I rock the HELLOUTTAIT!! 😝

I'm planning on having 7-10 when I turn 18.

So what if it's a phase? It's something that will not leave permanent damage (or very rarely will).

It's not like they're going to get tattooed and shit... just a whole or two in their ears, or face. They can take them out later.

I'm 16 and currently have 5, (double lobes + helix, planning on my belly button and industrial this summer)

I had double eyebrow, belly button done twice, 3 in the ear, and nose done. Then my body rejected them and the eyebrows have scarred and nose has a scar line. My parents had no issues

My parents signed for me to get my naval pierced when I was 15. That was 20 years ago. I now have 11. I love all of them.

I wanted a lot of piercing when I was 13-15, luckily my mum didn't actually let me get them all (I've outgrown some things I wanted, like spider bites). I was, however, allowed to get my helix pierced at 15 (in addition to lobes which I got ages ago). I'm nearly 19 now, and have an additional two helix piercings (making a line of three) and a septum piercing. 
I'd like to get my nose done, something else to complement my helix piercings, and am yet to think of something for my other ear.

I actually wanted piercings when I was 14 got a few and felt like people judged me about them until I turned 19 now I have 13 piercings and I love them all

I wasn't able to have piercings as a teen, but I wanted them badly. My dad and I made a contract saying if I wanted piercings when I turned 18, he would pay for my first piercings as a birthday present. I was 12 when we did this, and let me just say that he was surprised when I brought it to him on my 18th birthday.
